"We might win it all. We may not, but we might." -WKU fan, Wendell Kirby
As game time approached on Friday a flock of WKU fans lined the outside of Summit Arena after a seven hour drive. Many fans arrived just minutes before the game from south central Kentucky. Fans from Bowling Green, Leitchfield, and Alvaton waved their red towels as the team took the court. Wendell Kirby of Alvaton has traveled with the team on many road trips since 1982.
"We might win it all. We may not but we might."
Several fans took several routes but they all have one goal in mind, to see the Hilltoppers take home the men and women's conference title. If that doesn't happen, many still hope to make the most of the trip.
"We'll stay three or four days and make a trip of it. We want to see the world. If we didn't, we wouldn't know how people live outside of Alvaton." said Kirby.
The Sun Belt Conference Tournament is in it's last year in Hot Springs. Next season it's slated to be held in New Orleans.
