BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The WKU men's basketball team entertained a crowd of approximately 4,200 Friday night at E.A. Diddle Arena in the official kickoff to basketball season on The Hill, Hilltopper Hysteria.
The squad was introduced to the crowd and then played a 20-minute scrimmage before finishing up with a slam dunk contest. The Gray Team took the scrimmage, 62-52, behind Trency Jackson's 19 points on five three-pointers. Nigel Snipes returned to the court after an injury last season and scored 12 points, and Daouda Soumaoro led the Gray Team with four rebounds.
T.J. Price paced the Red Team with 13 points, and Aaron Adeoye added 12 points and five rebounds. Kevin Kaspar poured in eight points.
All 16 players on the 2013-14 Hilltopper roster saw action in the scrimmage.
The team wowed the crowd with the Slam Dunk Contest to close the night, and Adeoye defeated Jackson in the final round to take the crown.
Hilltopper Hysteria comes midway through fall practice, and the team will practice for two more weeks before taking the court for the first time on Saturday, November 2 for an exhibition game against Campbellsville at E.A. Diddle Arena.
