BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU Football took to the field for the third day of fall camp on Wednesday with split sessions of newcomers and veterans. The opening game of the 2013 season against Kentucky is now just 24 days away in Nashville.
Today marked the third of four days that newcomers and veterans held separate sessions before coming together for their first full-squad practice on Friday at 9:00 a.m. in Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
Following the veterans practice, defensive coordinator Nick Holt and defensive lineman Gavin Rocker talked with the media about the upcoming season and spring practice. Holt inherits a strong secondary and linebacker group, but is working hard in fall camp to determine his starting defensive line. Rocker is among the players fighting for a spot on the line. The redshirt sophomore played in 12 games last year and had three sacks on the year for the Hilltoppers with three starts.
