Hot Rods Lose Series Opener vs Quad City

After getting out to an early one nothing lead the Hot Rods played anything but hot for the rest of the game.

D.J Slaton finished with a 7.20 ERA after pitching five innings. Josh Kimborowicz came in as the reliever but it wasn't enough for the Hot Rods to rally back.

The Quad City River Bandits really got their bats going in the fifth and sixth inning, hitting two homers and bringing in eight runs. Brett Phillps and Ronnie Mitchell both finished the game with two run homers.

After losing 9-2 tonight the Hots Rods will look for revenge tomorrow in game 2 of the series at Bowling Green Ball Park at 02:05 pm. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
