- This is the third of four meetings between the Hot Rods and Silver Hawks at Bowling Green Ballpark in 2012.
- The matchup features two teams with car-themed names: the Silver Hawks are named for the Studebaker Silver Hawk that was manufactured in South Bend in the mid-20th century.
- Eighth-year manager Mark Haley’s starting rotation is highlighted by Archie Bradley, the seventh overall pick in the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
