BOWLING GREEN, Ky – The Bowling Green Hot Rods announce that RHP Jeff Ames has been named the Midwest League’s Pitcher of the Week (June 10-16) for the third time this season. The 2013 Eastern Division All-Star also took home the honor for the weeks of April 15-21 and May 13-19. Ames becomes the first pitcher in Hot Rods history to win the award three times in one season.
In his only start of the week, Ames spun five no-hit innings on Saturday night in Lansing, leading the Hot Rods to a 5-1 win. The Vancouver, WA, native grabbed his first win since May 13 and finished the first half of the season with a 6-1 record with a 2.47 ERA.
