South Bend, IN - Alejandro Segovia and Tyler Goeddel each drove in three runs to lead the Bowling Green Hot Rods (39-24, 77-56) to a 11-5 victory over the South Bend Silver Hawks (30-33, 65-68) on Monday night at Coveleski Stadium. The win marks the Hot Rods 77th of the season, which ties the single-season franchise record. Scoring 11 more times on Monday night, the Hot Rods have now scored 31 runs in the first three games of this four-game series, extending the Hot Rods road winning streak to seven.

South Bend grabbed their first lead of the series when they scored three times in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-1 lead. Bowling Green was ahead at that point because of a Segovia RBI-single in the first inning. The two teams traded runs in the second, and the Silver Hawks owned a 4-2 lead heading into the top of third inning.

The top of the third inning happened to be the decisive inning in the ball game. The Hot Rods brought ten men to the plate to score seven runs in the frame. Seogiva brought in two runs with another single to tie the score 4-4. After a Cameron Seitzer sacrifice fly, Taylor Motter then crushed a ball over the wall in left field for a two-run shot, his second of the series and fifth of the season. The outburst slotted the Hot Rods into a lead that they never surrendered.

Goeddel drove in two runs in the top of the fifth inning with a single to centerfield to place the Hot Rods into a 9-4 lead. Bowling Green's bullpen, which took over for Jake Floehte after just 1.2 innings, limited the Silver Hawks to just one run and allowed the Hot Rods to coast to another victory, the team's third straight overall and sixth in their last seven games.

In his debut for the Hot Rods, Reinaldo Lopez hurled 4.1 innings of one-run baseball to nab the win. Stayton Thomas was nearly perfect in the final three frames to grab his fifth save of the year.
