Bowling Green, KY – On the heels of being named “Best of” Bowling Green, the Bowling Green Hot Rods unveiled game times and their first wave of promotions for the upcoming 2011 season. The Tampa Bay Rays affiliate begins its third season on Monday, April 11, at 6:35 PM, and the schedule features the return of weekly fireworks and Thrifty Thursdays, plus additional promotions to provide fans and families with the most entertainment value for their dollar.

“We want to thank our fans for voting us as the ‘Best Place to Bring a Date’ and their ‘Favorite Place for a Family Outing,” said Hot Rods General Manager and CEO Brad Taylor. “We’ve learned what our fans enjoy over the last two seasons and we think that’s reflected in the first set of promotions we have planned for 2011.”

The new promotional schedule features a host of returning favorites set for certain days of the week. The highlight of this theme is the return of post-game fireworks, which are being moved to follow every Saturday home game in 2011, plus a trio of bonus extravaganzas on July 3, July 4, and after the season finale on Friday, September 2. Also returning are Thrifty Thursdays, introduced last August, offering a plethora of $2 food and beverage specials every Thursday night.

Fridays will feature premium giveaway items and popular theme nights, such as Faith & Family Night (April 29, July 8, and August 5) and a pair of Scout Sleepover Nights (May 13 and August 19). On Sundays, kids can run the bases like their favorite Hot Rods after the game.

Game times for the 2011 season remain similar to those of 2010. All Friday and Saturday games begin at 7:05 PM. Monday through Thursday games are 6:35 PM in April and August; 7:05 PM in May, June, and July. The majority of Sunday games will start at 2:05 PM with a few select dates (May 29, July 24, and July 31) getting underway at 5:05 PM.

The team has added a handful of weekday afternoon games after only two such dates were scheduled in 2010. Three Education Day games will begin at 11:05 AM on April 12, April 27, and May 3; two more day games are set for 12:05 PM starts on Tuesday, May 17, and Wednesday, June 1.
