Kentucky Senior Open at Olde Stone

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- It was a breezy, beautiful day in Bowling Green Monday.

Perfect weather for a round of golf and that's exactly what players from all around the state were doing at Olde Stone during the Kentucky Senior Open.

There are a number of local players including former WKU Basketball coach Jim Richards and former senior open champion Steve Rogers.

Both Richards and Rogers agree it's great the event is in Bowling Green this year.

"It's a great thing for our city. I'm sure we have lots of people staying in our hotels, eating in our restaurants and people coming in here and this is a real showcase for Bowling Green. This is a wonderful, wonderful venue," Richards said.

"Really Olde Stone is not supposed to be in Bowling Green it's so good. It should be in a big city and we're so fortunate some people across the state and Louisville, they really want to come here so anytime we get a state tournament, Mr. Scott is so gracious to have an event here they all will show up no matter when. So it's special place to play golf," Rogers said. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
