BOWLING GREEN, Ky - WKU looks to continue its winning ways on Wednesday night when the Lady Toppers play host to Louisiana at E.A. Diddle Arena at 7:00 p.m. on Throwback Night.

The Lady Toppers will wear throwback uniforms modeled after the 1985 Final Four team. Fans can win a chance at obtaining one of the uniforms by buying a $20 raffle ticket.

WKU is off to one of the best starts in program history by winning 13 of its first 16 games. WKU has won at least 13 of its first 16 games for the eighth time in school history. It is the first time since 1998-99 that WKU is 13-3 start the season. WKU would improve to 14-3 with a win over ULL. It would be the sixth time in program history that WKU has won at least 14 of its first 17 games in a season and first since 1994-95 when WKU started the year 16-1.

Through Sunday's games, WKU is one of only six teams in the nation from a non-AQ conference that has already won 13 games this season. WKU has as many or more wins than 13 of the teams in this week's Associated Press poll.

First-year head coach Michelle Clark-Heard is one of four coaches in the nation that have led their team to at least 13 wins (through Sunday's games) as first-year head coaches. The others are Tennessee's Holly Warlick (13-3, 4-0), Auburn's Terri Williams-Flournoy (13-4, 2-2) and Michigan's Kim Barnes-Arico (14-2, 3-0). There are 62 first-year coaches in NCAA Division I this season.

WKU is 6-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, marking just the third time in the last 15 seasons the Lady Toppers have won six of the first seven conference games of the season. WKU started the year 7-0 in 2004-05 and 2007-08 and 6-1 in 2001-02.

WKU is coming off an impressive 86-68 win over FAU. Chastity Gooch had 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Toppers. The combined 71 points by Gooch, Alexis Govan and Bianca McGee against FAU on Jan. 12, 2013 were the most by a WKU trio since Nov. 22, 2005 when Crystal Kelly (38), Tiffany Porter-Talbert (21) and Charlotte Marshall (13) combined to score 72 against Charlotte in an 87-80 win. Gooch's nine-game streak of double-doubles is tied for the longest in the nation alongside Robert Morris' Artemis Spanou.
