Lady Toppers Looking to Make School History, Host North Texas on Saturday Afternoon

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - With a chance to win 11 games before the start of a new year for the first time in program history, WKU returns to Sun Belt Conference play to face North Texas in the final game of 2012 for the Lady Toppers. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, part of a doubleheader with the WKU Men's Basketball team.

WKU is 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference play entering the contest with North Texas (2-9), having posted a win at home over FIU and road wins over ULM and Troy.

The Lady Toppers are coming off a win over Florida A&M that propelled them to the championship of the Wright State Invitational on Dec. 21. The Lady Toppers beat host Wright State two days earlier in the event.

North Texas is coming off a 66-64 loss at Middle Tennesee on Thursday night. The Mean Green are led by Alexis Hyder. Hyder averages 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting 52 percent from the field.
