LOUISVILLE,Ky. (WBKO) -- Franklin native Kenny Perry didn't have a bad day, but he didn't have a great one either.
Hoping to carry the momentum from his win at the 3M Championship last week, Perry shot a +1 par on the first day of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville.
Perry birdied three times Thursday, on the opening hole, 10 and 15.
He bogeyed four times, once right after his opening birdie then again on nine and then twice more on 11 and 17.
He is seven strokes off the lead heading into the second round.
WBKO's Brian Chojnacki caught up with Perry before he teed off.
Perry declined to speak to the media after he was finished.
