Bowling Green, Ky. - Hilltopper fans can expect to see a new quarterback under center on Saturday against Morgan State.

Thursday evening, WKU head coach Bobby Petrino announced the team has reopened the position battle at quarterback. WBKO has confirmed through multiple sources that junior Brandon Doughty has been demoted from starting quarterback.

Doughty played very well in the WKU's season-opening win against Kentucky, but has struggled since then, throwing eight interceptions combined against Tennessee and South Alabama.

Petrino says all four quarterbacks on Western's roster (Doughty, Damarcus Smith, Todd Porter, and Nelson Fishback) took snaps during practice this week and he has not made up his mind as to who will get the start against Morgan State.

The Hilltoppers host Morgan State (0-3) at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
