BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Ryan Huck became one of only two players in the Sun Belt Conference this season to collect three Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors, as the senior first baseman picked up his third weekly honor, the conference announced on Monday. Huck hit .529 last week, with four of his nine hits going for extra bases. Huck joins Troy’s Danny Collins as the only other conference player to pick up three Player of the Week honors.

Huck capped off his massive week with another stellar series against Middle Tennessee, as the senior blasted two home runs in the three-game series. In six games in 2013 against Middle Tennessee, Huck has hit six home runs, hitting at least one home run in four of the six games against the Blue Raiders. Huck had seven hits in the three-game series, driving in seven runs.

Huck finished his regular season with 15 home runs – tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead. Huck has hit safely in 11 consecutive games, while also having at least two hits in eight-straight games heading into the 2013 conference tournament. Huck is currently hitting .372 with 53 RBI and 38 walks. His 32 career home runs put him at 10th in WKU baseball history, needing just two more home runs to tie former Hilltopper Matt Rice for eighth in WKU history.

Huck and the Hilltoppers will now get set for the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Tournament, as WKU will open against Florida Atlantic at 9:00 AM (CT) on Wednesday in Lafayette, La.
