Bowling Green, Ky. - Just a week after National Signing Day, Scout/FoxSportsNext has released its list of 2012 Conference Recruiters of the Year. Third-year Western Kentucky University assistant and defensive ends coach Raymond Woodie was named this year's winner from the Sun Belt Conference.
With just 12 seniors on the 2011 roster, WKU signed one of its smaller classes this year, inking 13 student-athletes on Feb. 1. What lacked in quantity was made up in quality, however, as seven of the 13 signees earned three stars.
The list also included seven Florida natives, an area Woodie is familiar with as he came to the Hill after 13 years as head coach at two Florida high schools - Bayshore (1997-2006) and Palmetto (2006-09). Woodie was listed as the main recruiter on seven of WKU's 13 signees, including five three-star prospects.
