Bowling Green, Ky--The revolving door that is conference realignment has yet to affect Western Kentucky.
According to multiple sources, Western Kentucky coaches in at least one sport have informed players the upcoming 2013-14 season will be the school's last as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
The most likely landing spot for Western would be Conference USA. Numerous reports suggest Tulsa will leave C-USA as early as next week for the soon-to-be-renamed Big East Conference, and WKU would be the prime candidate to replace Tulsa.
Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Florida International and Florida Atlantic will officially leave the Sun Belt and join Conference USA this summer.
Georgia Southern and Appalachian State are expected to announce their move to the Sun Belt on Wednesday. It is also being reported that New Mexico State and Idaho will join the conference as football-only members.
WKU joined the Sun Belt for basketball in 1982. Football did not move to the conference, however, until 2009 when the program made the transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision.
