BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- With a winter of conditioning behind them, the WKU Hilltoppers took the field for the first time this spring under first-year head coach Jeff Brohm, working out for just over two hours inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
The practice was the first of 15 this spring, all of which are open to the public, and will be capped off by the annual Red and White Spring Game, April 19 at 1 p.m.
For the first-year head coach, it was an opportunity to begin finding depth at key positions and seeing some new playmakers emerge for the team, a topic Brohm stressed following practice with the assembled media.
"I thought the first day went well," Brohm said. "I think it's important to be a hungry football team and our guys worked hard, put in a good hard day of work, and I liked the first day."
