BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Football continued its work toward the upcoming 2014 season on Tuesday afternoon with a two-hour practice session at Houchens Industries-L.T. smith Stadium.
The Hilltoppers suited up in full pads under clear, sunny skies and pleasant temperatures while working extensively on all three phases of the game: offense, defense and special teams.
Offensive line coach Neil Callaway returns four starters from an offensive line that paved the way for 18 records on offense in 2013. One of those returners is redshirt sophomore center Max Halpin, who spoke with the media with Callaway following practice.
“I think we are coming along pretty good,” said Halpin. “We are gelling as a whole.”
“I’ve been pleased with the attitude and the effort,” said Callaway. “We’ve got four or five guys who have played a lot of ball. There are some good options.”
The Hilltoppers will have another double practice session on Wednesday with practices beginning at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. All practices through Aug. 15 are open to the public.
