WKU Enters Conference USA with Sterling Reputation

The Hilltoppers are the new kids on the block in Conference USA, but they aren't entering the league as complete unknowns.

It appears they already have quite the reputation with their soon to be competitors.

The Tops had a very successful run in the Sun Belt Conference over the last thirty years. The school has won multiple league championships and all sport titles.

So when Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky was in town for the celebration party he said other schools know how successful the Hilltopper program is and how supportive the fan base can be for their Tops.

"We've got a lot of folks very excited about the quality of competition in all the programs. So you're dominating the Sun Belt over the years coming in and people are saying 'OK we can't let them dominate Conference USA' but it could certainly happen," Banowsky said.

"You know the enthusiasm and the passion of the fan base here is obvious and is something we wish all our schools had frankly, and so we're very proud with the association and know that fans are going to give us a big lift," he said.
