BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — On a nearly perfect spring morning, the WKU Hilltoppers went through their third scrimmage of the spring inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium on Saturday.
Spring football on The Hill is brought to you by the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety’s: Don’t Text and Drive Awareness Program. The spring will be capped off by the annual Red and White Spring Game, set for Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m.
The team went through a full speed session for the first half of the day before dialing the tackling back for the latter portion of the day which saw the offense and defense go against each other for the better part of two hours on the day.
It was the 12th practice of the spring as the Hilltoppers work under first-year head coach Jeff Brohm, who saw flashes of what he expects his team to look like this fall.
“I thought we had big plays on both sides of the ball,” Brohm said. “The defense was scoring and the offense was making big plays. We have to stay on top of (turnovers), so we have to make sure we’re efficient with it. Defensively, I thought we flew around and played hard.”
