BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Following their fifth practice of the spring, running backs coach Greg Nord addressed the media as he looks to replace All-American running back Antonio Andrews.
Andrews, the second All-American tailback from WKU in three seasons, leaves with the two most prolific single-season rushing marks in school history and is the NCAA's record holder for the most all-purpose yards over a two-year span. Finding his replacement is no small task, but Nord has a stable of talented backs who are up for the challenge.
"I've been pleased with the guys have taken to working and assuming the responsibility of replacing a great running back," Nord said. "Any time you are trying to replace NFL backs and draft choice backs, there are big shoes to feel. Certainly, I would expect (Leon Allen) to fill those shoes and we're working to get him to be that kind of back."
