BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - For the fourth game of the season, the WKU Hilltoppers (1-2) open play inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium for the first time of the 2013 campaign.
The home opener has been labeled as the "Live United White Out Game." Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game with the first 4,000 fans through the gate receiving a free White Out t-shirt. WKU Football schedule magnets will also be given to the first 2,500 fans through the gate. This weekend is also Parent and Family Weekend at WKU.
Kick-off is set for 6:00 p.m. CT and can be seen live on ESPN3. Trey Bender and Brian Kinchen are slated to call the action.
It will be the first meeting between the Hilltoppers and Bears (0-3). WKU is 3-2 against members of the FCS since becoming an FBS member prior to the 2008 season. Against MEAC members, the Hilltoppers are 4-0 with victories over North Carolina A&T (2-0), North Carolina Central (1-0) and Florida A&M (1-0).
It is also the latest WKU has opened their home schedule since 1993 when the Tops had to wait until Sept. 25 to host the Blazers of UAB, a game in which WKU won 40-13.
The Bears are led offensively by running back Lamont Brown, whose 29 rushing attempts and 110 yards are team highs. Morgan State has shown their preference to run over pass this season, as evidenced by their 122 rushing attempts to just 50 pass attempts.
On defense, middle linebacker Cody Acker has registered double-digit tackles in every game and has 32 total on the year with three tackles for loss.
For the Tops, senior running back Antonio Andrews has tallied 100 or more all-purpose yards in each game this season and looks to continue that streak. Head Coach Bobby Petrino has stressed to the team all week that the goal for Saturday is to stay within themselves and to 'take care of ourselves first.' The Tops will look to do just that on Saturday.
