CANCUN, Mexico — WKU heads south of the border to Cancun, Mexico, for the final two games in the 2012 Cancun Challenge, beginning Tuesday at 8:30 PM (CT) against Iowa.
From there, the Hilltoppers will either face Wichita State or DePaul on Wednesday at either 6:00 PM or 8:30 PM. WKU won its two mainland games in the tournament last week, defeating Austin Peay by 20 and Western Carolina, 92-81.
WKU and Iowa have never met on the hardwood, and the Hawkeyes return three starters and seven letterwinners from a team that went 18-17 in 2011-12 and advanced to the second round of the NIT.
Both WKU games in the Cancun Challenge will be televised on CBS Sports Network with Thad Anderson and Rich Zvosec doing the broadcast. The games will also be broadcast on the radio on the Hilltopper IMG Sports Network with Randy Lee and Hal Schmitt on the call. Live stats and live audio are available on WKUSports.com.
After returning from Mexico, WKU hosts Brescia (Ky.) Saturday night at 7:30 at E.A. Diddle Arena.
