BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The WKU baseball team will enter the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Tournament as the fifth seed and will play fourth-seeded Florida Atlantic at 9:00 AM (CT) on Wednesday, May 22 in Lafayette, La. The game will kick off the tournament and will be followed by top-seeded Troy and eighth-seeded Arkansas State at 12:30 PM. The meeting between WKU and Florida Atlantic in the first round of the conference tournament is nothing new, as the Hilltoppers and the Owls have now met five times in the last six years in the first game of the tournament.
WKU comes into the tournament winners of four-straight after a sweep of rival Middle Tennessee, while Florida Atlantic will come in winners of seven in a row after a sweep of Florida International.
This season the SBC Tournament has moved back to the double-elimination format after two years of pool play. All games will be available via web stream on the Sun Belt Digital Network. The championship game will be aired on the Sun Belt Network.
Championship festivities get underway on Tuesday night with Championship Family Night. There will be a home run derby, autograph session, baseball cards for the fans and more.
