GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO)-- Back-to-back Big East Tournament MVP Awards, a National Championship his senior year, and a guard in the NBA are only a few accomplishments to describe Peyton Siva. But what he really takes pride in is being able to give back.
"It was just an opportunity presented to me by a great friend." Siva said, "Got a chance to come out here and meet these kids and come to a Boys & Girls Club."
Siva told the group about his childhood and talked about some of the highest moments in his life, and he gives a lot of credit to the Boys & Girls Club.
"I was raised in the Boys & Girls Club in Seattle and that's where I went to the after school program. I felt like that really kick started my life in the right direction."
With the return of Montrezl Harrell, the Cardinals are expected to be strong next season and Siva gave his early predictions about the team.
"They do have a lot of freshmen coming in and they're a really talented team." Siva added, "Led by Montrezl and Wayne Blackshear. Wayne Blackshear has been to the Final Four and won a championship. I think they have the experience to move forward, but I think they are going to go through, like any team, their learning curves at the beginning of the year and I think they're going to hit the ground running the normal time they come."
Siva said although it will be tough, he believes that by the end of the season, his former coach Rick Pitino will have the Cardinals a top five team.
