Sam Provenzano joined WBKO in November of 2007 as a web-producer and reporter. He came to the Commonwealth State from Saint John, Indiana, 40 minutes outside the city of Chicago.
Sam attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Sociology. He felt that by studying Sociology, he could get a better feel about all kinds of different people.
While at Indiana University, Sam was able to do work for the local PBS affiliate news station WTIU. At the station he worked as a reporter, producer and anchor for the half hour news show "News Forum."
He's very grateful for all the help he received from family, friends, and professors at Indiana University.
Being a television reporter was something that he always dreamed of doing, and now finally he's starting his dream career at a great station, WBKO. He believes this is one of the best places to begin his career as a television reporter!
Sam misses the great friends he's made over the years, but most of all his two wonderful parents, Sam and Mary Lou, younger brother, Frank, brother-in-law Dave, and eldest sister Angie back at home, but knew from the beginning that in order to be a successful news personality he would have to move away from great friends and family and start his own path.
While he's not at work Sam enjoys playing tennis (he's a tennis instructor so if you need lessons give him a call), basketball, working out, and just hanging out with friends.
