Born and raised in Bowling Green, Tamara is excited to be a part of the station she grew up watching.

Tamara is a reporter at the station during the weekday, and the weekend anchor.

Tamara knew at the early age of 10 years old that she wanted to work in the television business. She always loved the news as child, and loved to talk! She knew this was the job she needed to be doing!

She graduated from Warren Central High School in Bowling Green and then from Western Kentucky University in 2006, with a major in Broadcast News and a minor in Criminology.

During her time at WBKO she's covered a number of stories, including tornadoes destroying area counties, the shooting of a Bowling Green police officer, the Mickey Mosher trial, soldiers deploying for war/returning from war, a trip to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Kentucky State Fair, investigating domestic violence and what is happening behind closed doors, gangs that are developing in small towns, an investigative look at what is being done to protect children from sex offenders, and most recently covered Hillary Clinton's campaign stop to Kentucky in the 2008 Presidential race.


During Tamara's time reporting, she has received several awards that she is very proud of.


Nationally, she has recieved the following awards:

13th place nationally: "TV News": William Randolph Hearst competition.

3rd place nationally: "TV Breaking News": The Society of Professional Journalists collegiate competition.

Statewide, Tamara has recieved the following awards:

1st place: Best Continuing Coverage (2008)
1st place: Best Light News Feature (2007)
2nd place: Best Hard News Feature (2008)
2nd place: Best Spot News (2007)
Honorable Mention: Best Investigative Reporter (2008)
1st place (collegiate): Best News Report (2006)


Regionally, she received the following awards from the
Society of Professional Journalists in the collegiate
divisions:

1st place "TV Breaking News" reporting 2006,
2nd place "TV News Photography" 2006,
3rd place "TV Feature Photography" 2006,
3rd place "TV Feature" reporting 2006,
and 3rd place "Radio Feature" reporting 2005.

She was also named to the 2006 Hall of Distinguished
Seniors at Western Kentucky University.

In her spare time, Tamara enjoys spending her time with
her friends and her huge family, playing basketball with
the WBKO Tube Jocks, volunteering her time to community events, being a board member for the Barren River Area Safe Space, listening to music, and shopping.
