Weekend Anchor and Reporter
Jake Boswell is from just up the Natcher Parkway, Owensboro, KY, on the Ohio River.
Jake is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he majored in Broadcasting. While attending
WKU, Jake traveled to London, England. During his time in London he attended multiple universities and
interviewed teachers and administrators about the Confucius Institute.
Jake’s knack for being in front of the camera began at an early age. Beginning in elementary school, and
all the way through high school, he was on the school newscast. He interned at WTVW, the FOX affiliate
in Evansville, Indiana in 2010. He then interned at WKYT, the CBS affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky in 2011.
Jake interned for IMG Hilltopper Sports Marketing the following year, where he interviewed athletes
and coaches for radio broadcasts. He also took on the role of roaming reporter at WKU baseball games
in the spring of 2012.
Also at WKU, Jake worked for the Alumni Association, was a Resident Assistant for Housing and
Residence Life, and made the President’s or Dean’s list every semester.
Jake is excited to be in the hometown of his alma mater, joining WBKO in April 2011. He serves as our
Weekend Reporter and 5 o’clock Producer on weekdays. Jake also loves to shoot football and basketball,
so don’t be surprised if you see him out with a camera on his shoulder.
