Meteorologist Jason Berry was born and raised in Defiance, Ohio. As a youngster, he grew up watching the skies and developed a certain love for the weather and all Mother Nature had to offer.

Upon attending Ayersville High School in Defiance County, Jason furthered his weather skills by enrolling in a college-level physics course. Within two consecutive years, he had taken direction of the school's weather facility and expanded its availability to the community.

After the November 10, 2002 tornado outbreak, one of Northwest Ohio's worst severe weather episodes yet, Jason developed an annual Severe Weather Awareness Program, which focuses on presenting severe weather safety tips to community-wide audiences. Immediately following the success of the program, Berry founded Weatherview.org in 2003, as a means of establishing a throughout analysis of the weather events that impact resident's lives.

Jason registered for classes at Ball State University, in Muncie, Indiana, in the spring of 2005. That May, he enrolled in a field study of severe local storms, under the direction of former departmental professor- Dr. David L. Arnold. Thus, he was presented with the experience chasing severe weather in the heart of Tornado Alley. To count, an estimated nine tornadoes were witnessed and at least two windshields were sacrificed to hail! The entire course lasted a month and averaged over 15,000 miles from the Rio Grande, to the Rocky Mountains and the Badlands of South Dakota.

Jason served as Treasurer to the Ball State University Storm Chase Team, before being appointed as Director for the 2007-08 Academic Year. He was also given the opportunity this spring to intern with WANE-TV Morning Meteorologist Greg Shoup.

Now an alum of Ball State University, Jason serves as the Weekend Meteorologist at WBKO. You can also watch him report the weather on both Mid-Day Live and Fox News at 9 Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays. As an added bonus, Jason will be presenting Weekends in Kentucky, a Monday night segment that focuses on attractions and recreation, both near and abroad.

When Jason is not engaged in work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography, astronomy, and music. He is also looking forward to marrying his fiancée and starting a family.
