Update: Body along I-65 suspected to be missing Nashville man who was murdered

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Update 7:01 p.m.

In a news release, Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the body found near the 15 mm on I-65 North is of a man from Nashville reported missing on Monday.

Officials said Patrick Jamal Washington, 32, was found shot to death in a grassy area just off the shoulder of I-65.

Washington’s father reported his son missing at 4 p.m. Monday, a few hours after Washington’s silver Jeep was found abandoned on the shoulder of I-65 south in the Madison area with bullet holes in the vehicle and blood visible.

Police said the investigation to this point shows that Washington was killed here in that area and his body was driven to Kentucky.

Officials report that ‘strong leads are being pursued.’

Kentucky State Police confirm a body was found Tuesday near the 15 mm on I-65.

Trooper Daniel Priddy told 13 News a death investigation was being conducted.

No further details are being released at this time.
