CAVE CITY, Ky. (WBKO) - The Kentucky Association of Health Plans is teaming up with Kentucky Sports Radio for “Shots Across the Bluegrass.”

Monday, they stopped at Dinosaur World in Barren County for a live KSR broadcast while medical staff administered vaccines for the public.

Executive Director Tom Stephens said they are excited to hit the road, calling KSR the most popular radio show in the commonwealth.

“People have vaccine hesitancy and so it is a lot more fun to come to Dinosaur World and engage with the KSR crew than it is to maybe go to the hospital or one of the big public clinics, so we’ve seen a lot of stuff about that and we’re excited to be out in some novel places and give people a chance to go to Dinosaur World,” Stephens said.

As of Monday, the state’s vaccine dashboard showed that 47 percent of the state’s total population is vaccinated, and 57 percent of its adult population.

The goal of the campaign is to improve vaccine acceptance and access in the commonwealth.
