Bungee Fitness classes now available in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) - We know the benefits of an active lifestyle, but sometimes the motivation is still lacking. One local fitness instructor says exercise should be fun to entice you to do it.
WBKO News spoke with Chantal Petrey with Body by Chantal who is also a bungee fitness instructor.
“Bungee fitness is a high cardio low impact workout where you are actually hooked with a harness to a bungee 13 feet in the air. You’re actually on the floor, and what it does is it gets you a chance to have a high cardio workout with low impact on your joints,” says Petrey.
She also says those that may be afraid of heights have nothing to fear. “Your feet stay on the ground at all times. What it does is it picks up half your body weight. So it gives you a chance to do a lot more moves, that if you’ve got bad knees, bad back or bad shoulders, that you would not be able to do normally because you kind of get the assistance of the extra bounce.”
Petrey adds, “It’s brand new, it’s so much fun. You’re going to work out for an hour, and you’re not even going to feel like you worked out. We’ve got a lot of church groups that go on, we’ve got a lot of people that come you know, with a bunch of friends, and what you’re going to do is you’re going to be able to get an unbelievable final workout. People don’t necessarily like working out in the summer, they want to be on vacation. This is so much fun, you’re gonna want to come back over and over again.”
Petrey also spoke on how to get involved. “We are exclusively at Ralphie’s Fun Center. It’s an absolutely amazing place. What you have to do is you have to go on our website, www.bodybychantalllc.com. We have 13 spots available every night, so you have to have a reservation to be able to participate. You can book a class, and we have classes Monday through Thursday every week.”
