Job Summary/Description:

WBKO is seeking a multi-media journalist/reporter who loves to tell stories. You will be an integral part of the top news team in south-central Kentucky. From enterprising ideas, to breaking news, to polished and effective stories, we’re seeking someone who’s creative, digital savvy, aggressive, and not afraid to try new things. This position is ideal for someone starting their career. You bring the drive and determination - We bring the training and coaching!

What We Expect from You

  • Shoot, write, and edit compelling stories.
  • Write stories for digital and social media platforms
  • Develop and pitch unique enterprise stories daily
  • Participate in editorial discussions
  • Present stories daily – either Live in the field or the Studio

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Strong writing background
  • Knowledge on non-linear editing – we utilize Edius to edit our video, and training will be provided
  • Strong news judgment
  • High-level understanding of journalist ethics
  • Positive attitude, open to feedback and constructive criticism
  • MVR check required
