3-year-old in Milwaukee Amber Alert found dead Thursday
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WBAY/Gray News) - Milwaukee police confirmed a 3-year-old who was the subject of an ongoing Amber Alert is dead.
Police and community members were searching the area around 35th and Center streets Thursday afternoon.
Major Harris’s body was found near 35th St. and Rohr Ave. No other details were released.
The confirmation came shortly after police told WISN-TV that they were calling off the search. A reporter stated he witnessed Major’s father “collapse in grief.”
Police made several arrests over the past 24 hours for the murder of Major’s mother, Mallery Muenzenberger, who was found with several gunshot wounds a week ago, setting off the search for her son.
Jaheem Clark, a suspect in Muenzenberger’s murder and Major’s disappearance, died of apparent suicide as police closed in on him four days ago.
Of the six people arrested, two are still in custody, WISN reports.
Muenzenberger’s family says she was a victim of domestic violence but did not give details.
