One dead in Scottsville following traffic accident on U.S. 231

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - Kentucky State Police are on the scene of a fatal accident involving a passenger car and commercial truck.

Police say one person has died following the crash at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway (US-231) and Halfway Halifax Road (KY-1332).

Preliminary investigation revealed that 64-year-old Gaylon Guy, of Scottsville, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala in the southbound lane of Veterans Memorial Highway. While attempting to turn left onto Halfway Halifax Road, Guy entered the northbound lane of Veterans Memorial and into the path of a 2018 Kenworth commercial vehicle being driven by 60-year-old Matthew Magyar, of Scottsville. Magyar’s vehicle struck the passenger side of Guy’s vehicle in the northbound lane of Veterans Memorial Highway. Gaylon Guy was pronounced dead by the Allen County Coroner. No other injuries were reported.
