Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department seeking more volunteers

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department in Edmonson County is looking for board members and firefighters!

All positions will be volunteer based. Board members must live within the fire district to qualify. Those that are interested in volunteering for a firefighter position must be 18 years or older and have good health.

WBKO News spoke with members of the department for more details. “We need people to come out to serve as board members. And we need firefighters. We’re just needing the community’s support back in their fire department. We’ve got a new firehouse. We’ve got the equipment, we need people,” Joe Daugherty said.

Other volunteers also expressed their worry for the younger generation in the area due to the lack of community participation and aid.
