Gene first came to WBKO-TV as Sports Director in 1986. He left in 1993, then returned as the primary News Anchor in 1994. He graduated with a BS degree in Radio-TV from Southern Illinois University in 1972. He worked in radio in Beloit, Wisconsin and Crystal Lake, Illinois; and in television in Dubuque, Iowa; Mobile, Alabama; and Amarillo, Texas.
Lauren joined the 13 News team in 2001. She is the 5:00 anchor and assignment manager.
Kelly Dean is back in the Bluegrass as a senior reporter and fill-in anchor at WBKO. She joins us from WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tenn., where she worked as their 'Alert Desk' reporter.

Ana Medina began at WBKO back in 2016, she is a producer for the 6 pm and 10 pm newscast, she also MMJ's on other days and shoots highlights for basketball and football.
