Gene first came to WBKO-TV as Sports Director in 1986. He left in 1993, then returned as the primary News Anchor in 1994. He graduated with a BS degree in Radio-TV from Southern Illinois University in 1972. He worked in radio in Beloit, Wisconsin and Crystal Lake, Illinois; and in television in Dubuque, Iowa; Mobile, Alabama; and Amarillo, Texas.
Kelly Austin joined the WBKO News team in November of 2019 as the morning show producer. During her time with WBKO, she has anchored WBKO News at 4 and now anchors AM Kentucky.
Allie Hennard returns to WBKO as a full-time senior reporter and the anchor of WBKO News at 5, 6 and 10.
Isaac Calvert joined WBKO in August 2022 as a Multimedia Journalist. He is currently living in Bowling Green, but is originally from Island, KY in McLean County.
Sarah Phipps graduated from Western Kentucky University 2022, Station Manager for NPR's Revolution 91.7, Society of Professional Journalists president 2020-21. Currently living in Bowling Green but originally from Louisville. Lover of cats, hockey, and food.
Lauren McCally joined WBKO in June of 2021 after graduating from the University of Kentucky.
Katy Beth Boyers joined WBKO in June 2022 as a News Producer. She produces WBKO News at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Thomas Paden joined WBKO in February of 2023 as an evening news editor.
Joe Hooks joined WBKO in September 2022 as the morning editor, producer and is now an IT Specialist.
David Wolter joined the WBKO team as the Chief Meteorologist in 2023.
Dana Money currently attends Western Kentucky University. She is a Southern Indiana native. She joined WBKO in February of 2023.
Kaden Gaylord-Day joined WBKO in October of 2022 as a Sports Reporter and Anchor.
Brennan joined the WBKO News team in April 2023. He worked primarily in radio news in Glasgow before joining WBKO News.
Will is a native of Fayette, Alabama and has spent the majority of his news career in newspapers until making the change to television at WBKO in 2021.
