I'm excited to be the new AM Kentucky and midDAY Live meteorologist for WBKO! I know I have big shoes to fill, but I will be accompanied with a great First Alert weather team to help deliver accurate forecasts and the talented Laura Rogers each morning! I moved here after working roughly two years in Rapid City, South Dakota as a weekend meteorologist at KOTA-TV & KEVN; our sister station that covers western South Dakota, northeast Wyoming and southeast Montana! Out there I would forecast extreme temperature and moisture changes in the Black Hills, the Badlands, the prairies of the High Plains and part of the Bighorns! I have experience with severe and winter weather forecasting, though I know the winter weather forecasting won't be as frequently used down here!

I am originally from southern Ohio near the Cincinnati area. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Meteorology at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and while I was there, I also volunteered with the local forecasting department, Scalia Laboratory with the university as well as the local PBS station, WOUB-TV.

Outside of the job, I love the outdoors and doing things like kayaking and hiking. I also love science fiction such as Star Wars or comic books in general. I also enjoy sports, especially college football! On Saturdays I root for my alma mater, though they usually play Tuesday or Thursday nights in true MACtion form. I also love watching the Cincinnati Bengals, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And most of all, I enjoy weather and climate as it has been a passion of mine since I was 6 years old. What sparked it was a phenomena called "snow rollers," which occurs after snow has fallen and the top layer of snow briefly melts just enough so when wind or gravity moves it, it begins to roll up and eventually makes any yard look like it is covered in small bails of snow! When it comes to storms or even cool cloud formations, I also tend to geek out!

If you ever want to talk weather or sports or have any questions, please feel free to follow me on my social media accounts. Its @EthanEmeryWX on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! You can also email me at if you have any questions that you'd like me to address for the newscasts.

Thank you for allowing me to share my passion with you in such a beautiful area!
