“Brandon is an Eastern Kentucky native who moved to Bowling Green in 2015 to pursue a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Western Kentucky University. He is thrilled to bring his community building roots to South-central Kentucky.”

Brandon started at WBKO in December of 2018 – and he is excited to share the stories of the people of South Central Kentucky.

Brandon picked up his love for Journalism at a young age. He would spend hours making video edits using now retired, “Windows Movie Maker”. His passion for Journalism only grew during his high school career when he joined JKG (Jobs for Kentucky graduates). During this time, he learned more about enhancing his reporter skills, building a story, and making quality interviews.

Brandon founded, “The Appalachian Broadcast Network” in early 2015. His very first news package covered water issues in his hometown of Inez, KY. Brandon never expected his story would receive nearly 50 thousand views and over 1.2 thousand shares. The response opened up investigations into his hometown that Brandon hoped would help his community. This was when his passion turned into a burning desire.

Brandon is currently a student at Western Kentucky University where he also produces content, anchors and reports for the school’s news channel, News Channel 12. He is set to graduate in Fall 2019.

“I love connecting with people on a genuine, emotional level. At the end of a story when you feel you’ve truly made a difference in someone’s life, that is what I aim to do.”

If you have a story idea or have something you want Brandon to cover, feel free to email him or send him a message on Facebook or Twitter.
