Marna Chenault’s 2nd grade class

The JA Classroom of the Week is Marna Chenault’s 2nd grade class at Bristow Elementary School. Her class was led by JA Volunteer Brandon Jones who is a Store Brands Specialist at Houchens Industries. Brandon is also a JA Alum and the Board Chairman on the JASCKY Board of Directors. The 2nd grade Junior Achievement program is titled “JA Our Community” and it focuses on using posters and games to offer practical information about businesses and the many jobs those businesses offer in a community. Students explore production methods through a simulation game, and they learn about taxes, decision making, and how money flows in an economy. Brandon’s favorite part of volunteering for JA is the students… their energy and enthusiasm is contagious. He also said, “Junior Achievement has been one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences of my life. You go into the classroom expecting to make a difference in children’s lives, but they end up making a difference in yours.”
