TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) -- Monroe County's James Comer running for his second term as republican U.S. Representative for Kentucky's first congressional district.
Very early Tuesday night, Comer was declared the winner over democrat challenger Paul Walker.
Comer told me Tuesday night despite the contentiousness across the country this next Congress will have to be more bipartisan and more civil.
"There are issues republicans and democrats will never agree on," said Comer, "but there are issues that we can agree on. We can agree that our deficits are too big. We can agree that our infrastructure's crumbling in America. And we can agree that we need to renegotiate our trade deal. So hopefully we can find the issues where there is agreement and try to get consensus."
