ALVATON, Ky. (WBKO) -- Alvaton Elementary honored those who have served our country and held a ceremony Friday morning.
Many of those in attendance had family who had ties to the military.
The school celebrated all Veterans especially one, in particular, Floyd Parr.
Parr is a veteran of World War II who served as an Army Medic.
"It has been a tradition for many years for him to come to these occasions and he enjoys it he looks so forward to it. He's been sick the last year and had several issues going on, but he was up and ready to go to this morning. He's got such pride in what he did," said Debbie Richardson, Floyd Parr's daughter.
Parr will turn 101 years old on December 7th also known as Pearl Harbor Day.
