GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) - A former state lawmaker has an assault 4th degree charge dismissed.

According to the Barren Circuit Court Clerk's office, the charge against former Kentucky State Representative Johnny Bell was dismissed with prejudice last week meaning the case is dismissed permanently.

The clerk's office says Latonya Justice Clayton also had an assault 4th degree charged dismissed with prejudice.

According to the original citation, Clayton claimed Bell physically removed her from a car, then struck her, causing injuries. Bell claimed Clayton had broken into his home following an earlier altercation and also said that he too had been assaulted.
