Barren River District Health Department confirms 1,356 COVID-19 cases, Warren County up to 879

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Barren River District Health Department has confirmed 1,356 cases of COVID-19 in the Barren River District, 478 of which have recovered. Our district has 27 deaths reported from COVID-19.

Here is a county by county look:

Barren has 34 cases and 15 recovered and 1 death. Butler has 209 cases, 56 recovered, and 6 deaths. Edmonson has 54 cases, 12 recovered, and 9 deaths. Hart has 20 cases and 5 recovered. Logan has 112 cases, 22 recovered, and 3 deaths. Metcalfe has 5 cases and 2 recovered. Simpson has 43 cases, 26 recovered, and 3 deaths. Warren has 879 cases, 340 recovered, and 5 deaths.

In order to slow the spread of COVID-19, the health department says we must continue to follow recommendations provided by the CDC, the state, and Governor Andy Beshear. Practicing social distancing is the most important method for staying healthy. They urge Barren River residents to stay at home and leave only for essential items such as groceries and medications. When possible, choose online ordering, delivery, and curbside pickup services to obtain these items.

- Stay healthy at home. Leave only for essential items such as groceries once a week.
