Bikes for new program demonstrated at WKU
WKU students had the opportunity Wednesday to take a look at a new bike sharing program coming to campus.
Parking and Transportation Services staff promoted the new VeoRide bike share program.
They say it's a new way for students to save money and be more sustainable.
The program will bring 180 7-speed bikes to be used on and off campus at a rate of 50 cents for every 15 minutes.
Students can also purchase daily, monthly and annual passes at a discounted rate.
By scanning a QR code on the bike through the VeoRide app, users can unlock the bikes and charge their accounts.
They say the program is supposed to launch in the spring semester of 2019.
