BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society hosted its first-ever 'Puppy Speed Dating' event on Thursday.

It gave people in the community a chance to come out and visit animals from the shelter in hopes that they might be adopted.
"We had several adoptions applications filled out and a lot of people showed strong interest," said Mallory O'Neil, from the Bowling Green Humane Society. "I think more than anything we are just happy that it brought awareness to these dogs that are up for adoption and that they can get homes in time for Valentine's day."
The Humane Society plans to have a similar speed dating event for cats, to help them also get adopted.
