BOWLING GREEN, KY. (WBKO) --- This year alone, the chamber celebrated 19 economic development announcements, 188.5 million dollars in capital investments and over 640 new jobs in our community.
The chamber was honored with two Excellence Awards by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives.
The dinner also provided special recognition for individuals who went above and beyond.
"Tonight we were able to give The Herb Smith Lifetime Achievement Award to David Garvin, and his son came and accepted the award on his behalf and his family was here as well, which was a very touching moment for all of us," said Ronald Bunch, President and CEO.
David Garvin, was a Bowling Green entrepreneur who founded Camping World and formerly owned Beech Bend Park and Raceway. He passed away in 2014.
Bowling Green was also named 'Best Place To Live In Kentucky,' by Time.com.
