Bowling Green Housing Authority holds Mobile Grocery luncheon Tuesday
The Bowling Green Housing Authority is holding an informational luncheon Tuesday afternoon, on the vision of the Mobile Grocery Store.
Currently, the USDA has listed a neighborhood in Bowling Green as a food desert. This is when there is a dull amount of fresh fruit, and vegetables, usually found in proverty stricken areas.
To combat the problem, the Housing Authority is working with organizations in the community to establish a mobile grocery store.
This would allow families to purchase the necessary things they need right at their front door.
So far, Warren County Public Schools has donated a refurbished 34 passenger bus.
Tuesday afternoon, there will be an informational luncheon at 11:30am at the Housing Authority on Double Springs Road, to announce the goals and vision of the Mobile Grocery Store.
