BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Today, Bowling Green Metalforming, LLC announced its latest investment project for their over one-million-square-foot facility in the Kentucky Transpark. BGM currently employs over 1,600 people at the Kentucky Transpark - representing almost 70 percent of the park's total employment.
It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Magna International, a leading global automotive supplier with 340 manufacturing operations and 93 product development, engineering, and sales centers in 28 countries. In Bowling Green, BGM manufactures truck frame assemblies, engine cradles, body structural stampings and assemblies, suspension links, cross members and trailer hitches.
BGM is the Kentucky Transpark's original anchor tenant, breaking ground in 2004, becoming a leader in South Central Kentucky's automotive industry. Since operations began, BGM has grown to be the sixth largest employer in the 10-county South Central Kentucky region.
Last year, BGM was named the John B. Holland Business of the Year by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce for their 2015 expansion project, It was the second largest capital investment project in Kentucky that year.
