Bowling Green business owner named Kentucky's 2019 Small Business Person of the Year
The head of the U.S. Small Business Administration announces the 2019 Small Business Persons of the Year winners from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
Kentucky's winner is from Bowling Green! Paul Isenberg is the owner and founder of Smart Start Child Care.
"I actually kind of felt like it should be a small business community," said Isenberg. "Because if it wasn't for our teachers, if it wasn't for our community and parents that trust in us and believe us, then this wouldn't be possible."
Smart Start Child Care opened in 2011, and has three different locations across Bowling Green.
"One of the big things that sets us apart is our facility," said Isenberg. "As you can see, they stand out, they're nicer, they offer a variety of different learning things. Opportunities for kids to be able to learn both intellectually, physically, socially -- we try to touch all areas of learning."
Each of the winners have been invited to attend ceremonies in Washington, DC in May, where they will be honored with their individual award. During the ceremony, the 2019 National Small Business Person of the Year will be announced.
National Small Business Week will be observed May 5-11 with events around the country.
